Mathematical Modelling of Neutrophil Responses to <i>Aspergillus</i>

Abstract Invasive aspergillosis is a dangerous infection commonly affecting immunocompromised patients. The spores of the fungal pathogen, Aspergillus, are found ubiquitously in environment and inhaled daily by all humans. These cleared quickly effectively healthy hosts without developing infection. On other hand, patients with impaired immunity, can develop an invasive pneumonia poor outcomes. Neutrophils essential to host defense against aspergillosis, both direct killing as modulators immunity pathogen. To better understand this role, we conducted transcriptomic time series comparing responses human neutrophils Aspergillus. Differential gene expression analysis well enrichment indicated up regulation number transcriptional markers pathways including NFkB, NR4A, TNF, neutrophil degranulation, cytokine-mediated signaling, chemokine TREM1 signaling among others. Combining data known mechanisms from literature, built mathematical model describing intracellular which determine neutrophil’s response after detecting Very few models have been modeling none that know relates interaction between organism. We intend use our make predictions on effects altering different within cell. Moreover larger systems immune system pulmonary aspergillosis.
